D’Tigress Camp in Lagos commences & More

The Nigerian national senior men home based team must have landed in Luanda the capital of Angola for the finals of Afrochan, 2023 after camping in Lagos, after their return from Abidjan where they secured second spot behind the host country.

It is no longer news that all this was made possible by the President of the Nigerian Basketball federation, despite the Ministry had declared unavailability of funds to sponsor the team to represent Nigeria at this tournament.

Speculations were upbeat during the week as Nigeria almost pulled out of the tournament, if not for the timely intervention of President Musa Kida, who for the umpteen time has come to the rescue of Nigeria from huge fines and possibly international embarrassment if Nigeria  declined to attend at this late hour.

The president we understand has been inactive for a couple of weeks, but has continued to find time to make sure Nigeria Basketball and the players are not let down even at this tight crucial economic melt down in the country.

Nigeria is billed to play Mali and Host country Angola in the group stages.

We pray the players will understand the great sacrifice made for them to participate and reward the president and the NBBF with a performance that will be worthwhile.
